I believe this listing is for a WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 95 Sword for non-commissioned officers with a cast aluminum hilt, iron collar and guard. The sword is in good condition.
Cutting edge is 27 long and the whole sword is 39 long. The number on the scabbard and sword do not match. See pictures for the numbers on the scabbard and sword.Sharp with a tight grip and the locking mechanism works perfectly. The tip of the sword has some discoloration but is perfectly smooth on this segment of the blade. The scabbard has some rusting but retains most of the original green paint and has no dents. See pictures where you can see that the name Vaughn was lightly scratched onto the scabbard. This sword belonged to my uncle and his last name was Vaughn and he fought in the US Army in WWII I dont know any more about the swords history than that.
Please examine the listing photos, as they are a part of the listing description. I assume anyone interested in purchasing this sword will have greater knowledge than me on these swords. I recommend asking questions if you are unsure about anything. The item "WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 95 NCO Sword" is in sale since Monday, April 13, 2020.
