WWII Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Rice Box, Early Type, Made by Nigiriya. I assume that it was not intended for boiling and cooking, but rather as a lunch box for an attendant soldier on duty to fill with white rice and side dishes cooked in his own military rice box and take it to the officer in charge of him. Probably a vintage item manufactured between the Manchurian Incident and the first half of the Pacific War.

When I looked it up on the internet, I found out that "Nigiri Arrow" came from Nasu Aluminum Equipment Factory (founded in 1903), which is now the predecessor of Nippon Light Metal Company. Color remains about 90% of the entire paint job and is in good condition.
