WW2 Original IJA Imperial Japanese Army Uniform Greatcoat Type 45 for EM or NCO. Hat and epaulette not included. Type 45 Kai (Model "Type 45-altered", preceding model of "Showa 5").
Produced in Taisho 11 (1922). [blurred size marking] Estimated to be between size 3 to size 4 in the 1 to 6 scale of sizing remarks: size 3 to 4 is modern asian size M equivalent. Made bigger than tunic sizing to accommodate wear on top of it. Belt hooks intact (2 in back side to support the belt). All original buttons: front button 1 missing.
Shoulder board holding lining missing. Come without hood remarks: field alteration to this greatcoat model is found removing the hood occasionally due to the soldier's personal preference.
It is also possible that the hood was removed post-war. Historical Info: Type 45 (Kai) greatcoat was prevalent pre-war to around 1938 in the cold region e. Manchuria/China worn alongside with Type Showa 5 Tunic. Photographs showed its use in the Battle of Nanking (1937/38). Its prevalence was further than the Type Showa 5 greatcoat.
This will be a great piece to complete your IJA backpack (rolled) or display (to be complete with a pair of shoulder boards). Due to the pandemic parcel to some destinations may be delayed or canceled. I do not hide facts but may miss them so please consult if you need more info. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Militaria\WW II (1939-45)\Original Period Items\Japan\Other Japanese WWII Orig Items".
