This was used by various Japanese Pilots and crew members throughout WW2. Made of a rich deep red-brown leather, this helmet is in GOOD used condition!
It is constructed of 5 separate pieces of brown leather, with a 1 wide brim at the front. The ear cups are sewn-on leather pockets, designed to fit the Gosport receiver, and the reverse features a leather strap to retain the pilot goggles. The cloth label that normally would have had the pilot's name is also still intact! Internally, it features BOTH of the manufacture labels, which is quite rare.
The only downfall is that the leather chin strap is missing (does not affect the ability to install on a mannequin), and the leather is quite dry overall. Could some some leather conditioning to soften it up a bit. Some wear, marks, cracks, and tears throughout.
Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display! Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage.
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft Fw190, Me262, etc. , as well as USAF and Japanese items.
Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. Use is solely based on my authorization only. The item "WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy Leather Flight Helmet Summer Version A6M Zero" is in sale since Sunday, July 7, 2019.
