Aiming scope was developed for Artillery and MG units, and was used for measuring horizontal and vertical angles. It was an important instrument for initially sighting guns of all sizes prior to firing, and could be used for indirect fire with MG's. It also was used with mortars and other heavy artillery. Made of brass, aluminum, and steel, this Mortar Aiming Sight is in VERY NICE used condition!
It retains 90% of its original finish with some slight marks, wear, and surface stains due to the age... But NO corrosion or damage! The manufacture information is clearly stamped into the front, and features Kanji lettering in various areas.
Optics are EXCELLENT, with the focus adjustment working 100% correctly. There is some spotting and as you see in the photos, but the cross hair and grid is still quite visible!
Some of the adjustment knobs are a bit stiff, so they will need a bit of lubrication. Similar in function to that of the German RK31, I have NEVER seen another one of it's type! I have not been able to find one in use on the web, so I have shown the German version in use in the last photo. D make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display! Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft Fw190, Me262, etc. , as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. Use is solely based on my authorization only.
