This rare commemorative medal is from the 1933 Manchurian Expo, held during Japan's occupation of Manchuria. The box and the front of the medal read Dairen City Hosted Manchurian Expo Opening Ceremony Commemoration. The back of the medal is inscribed with "Expo" and the date July 23, 1933. The 1933 Manchurian Expo showcased the establishment and economic-cultural development of Manchukuo, following Japan's occupation after the 1931 Manchurian Incident.
