This is an original, Second World War era Imperial Japanese Army issue Type 92 Field Telephone with its late-war heavy rubberized canvas carrying case. Components appear complete, and include the microphone and aluminum-frame earpiece (both attached to lengths of electrical cable), hand crank, ring device, electronic schematic with Japanese language directions, and the small screwdriver and double-headed wrench. The protective wooden/metal casing is undamaged and in excellent condition. To my eyes the interior components also look undamaged and in excellent shape, although the main electronics inside the case look like they may have some minor corrosion from storage conditions.
The carrying case is typical rubberized/compressed canvas of the later war period, with a few minor leather components such as the retaining straps. Everything seems to function reasonably well to hold the unit inside, although some of the narrower parts of the casing are starting to pull lose. Overall this is one of the nicer examples of a Japanese field telephone I have ever seen, perfect for display with an advanced collection of Japanese military field equipment.
