WWII Imperial Japanese Navy IJN Officers Dress Sword & Scabbard Fine Original Condition; wonderful condition blade, handle, and guard - some loss of gilding to the fittings of both the sword and scabbard - the leather remains unbroken and pliable while exhibiting surface wear and scuffing as photographed. The blade measures 26 1/2 inches, the swords total length is 30 1/2 inches, and total length seated in the scabbard is 33 1/4 inches. The folding hilt lock holds the sword firm in the scabbard. This is a fine example of an exceptionally difficult to find WW2 Japanese Navy Sword. The vast majority of Japanese Navy Swords were lost during the war or not surrendered.
