This is an extremely nice example of a WW2 Japanese Army Officers Shin Gunto. It is mounted with a very nice old koto blade. The early high quality type 94 koshirae with pierced tsuba remains in exceptionally nice condition. The metal saya is finished in an brown color, however what really sets this koshirae apart from most others, is the original red and brown field officers tassel hanging from the cord sarute. (Field Officer Tassels where carried by officers with the rank of Major Colonel).
