If you don't know what this is-let me teach you some history! You're looking at an extremely rare wartime photo album issued by the Imperial Japanese Navy, covering the China Incident-what the Japanese government called their full-scale invasion of China-between July 1937 and July 1939.

This was no tourist souvenir. It was printed in November 1940 by the Navy Ministry Personnel Department, marked "Reproduction Prohibited" and Distribution Only With Authorization. That alone makes this album a piece of history not meant for the public-a confidential visual document for internal use. Inside you'll find over 100 photos documenting. Naval bombardments and landings on the Chinese coast.

Amphibious operations, trench warfare, and front-line infantry scenes. Briefings and command meetings onboard battleships. Collaborations between Army and Navy units. Devastating aftermaths of air raids and destroyed Chinese facilities.
