WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy binoculars 15x80mm 4 Deg. WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy binoculars 15x80 (4 degree), complete with original storage box. This "Big Eye" style was specifically used on late-war battleships, destroyers, cruisers and other surface vessels, or on remote island outposts. The center features a data plate indicating the manufacture information: date June 1944? They are Inscribed with Serial Number 131, and 15x80mm, 4 (degrees) on the rear of the right barrel. Overall length is 18 & they weigh 14 lb. The front objective lenses are recessed by 2, and measure 3 1/8 diameter, with the outside lens barrels measuring 4 diameter.

There are no noticeable scratches on any of the lenses and no fungus or prism chips. Lens are very clear, no cloudiness whatsoever, no scratches, no issues.

Both oculars move freely and smoothly and focus clearly. The oculars also smoothly spread and contract for adjusting and is not stiff. The set has its original metal identification plaques both on the binoculars and on the box. The binoculars come with in original wood crate. The crate is fully intact and comes with a few tools as well as the original eye shades, which have become hard from age so are not useable, but they are there.
