A WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Type 98 winter uniform for enlisted men and NCOs. The Type 98 uniform was introduced in 1938 to replace the earlier Type 5 from 1930. The uniform consists of thick lined tunic and trousers for use in cold areas. Both the tunic and trousers are complete with all of the original buttons and ties. The tunic is dated Showa 17 for 1942 and the trousers are dated Showa 16 for 1941.
