IMPERIAL JAPANESE WW2 GOOD LUCK FLAG With INSCRIPTIONS & SASH JAPAN
Offered by Over The Blue Horizon and obtained about ten years ago at a Tokyo area shrine sale is an original Japanese Good Luck flag with an accompanying sash. Although there is not a lot of kanji on this flag, it is special because it comes with a sash most likely worn by the draftee. This nice-size 38 x 26 inch flag is probably made of silk, possibly rayon. As can be seen from the accompanying scans, it is relatively clean and has been folded for decades. The accompanying sash, 48 inches long and 4 inches in width, has kanji on the front and back, would have been worn over the draftee's chest as he was seen off to the train station (see accompanying scan), and is of cotton construction. We do not try to clean this flag or sash-- they are in the same condition in which we obtained it. We guarantee them to be the'real deal' and all set to be owned by an advanced collector who will appreciate it.
