Choice Imperial Japanese WWII IJN Navy Tropical Short Pants Complete with Belt and Buckle, Nice Interior Stamp. These are choice scarce Imperial Japanese Navy tropical short pants in a nice khaki beige color.

This is type with the sewn on waist belt and metal buckle with anchor device. No rips or major defects; they are probably unworn. There is some rust color spotting on the top surface in the waist area which may be from the buckle rusting when the pants were folded in storage. There is a rust patina to the outside of the metal belt buckle. The fly area has all three nice light green buttons on the outside and another matching button to fasten the waist. The colors and condition are very good for a vintage item with just light surface dirt here and there the use of an ink stamp instead of sewn cotton label indicates an issue of 1943 or later.

There is some dark age toning in the interior cotton lining as expected of an original vintage item. These type pants were extensively used in the Pacific theatre and are seen in period photos of captured ground based naval troops, aviation flight crews (especially bomber crews) submarine crews etc. They are a must for completing a Pacific War IJN naval collection.
